    What if you due to reach your destination in 4hr 45mins or 5hrs. Or something relatively close to 4hr30mins, and you have to meet the deadline, e.g place will close or some other reason, how bad is it if you go over 4h30mins? If its just a one off thing?

    • @TRUCKERJOES
      @TRUCKERJOES Рік тому

      that's ok, just make a note of it on the analogue tachograph or print out for digital and explain why you gone over

      Depending on how much over the 4h30 you go, the fine can reach £2,500. I would strongly advise that you do not do it. If you are unexpectedly delayed (if an accident occurs on the road in front of you for example) then you are allowed to go over the driving limit, but only so that you can reach a safe stopping place. This is not carte blanche to drive on to your destination. That is when you would need to make a printout and note the reason for the breach on the reverse. This should be done as soon as possible, so when you reach a suitable stopping place. Make two printouts and sign and write the reason on the reverse of both. Then you can hand one in to the company that you are working for immediately, and hold on to the other for the 28 days that are required by the law.

    Wayyy to complicate . No enough hours to make the job worth. In eeuu they can drive 70 hours . So you can work 5 long days and then spend two days with the family resting.

      I agree and that's why, even this well presented video has a mistake with the table at 4:02 (there are 3 X 9 hours and 2 X 10 hours which is 47 hours and not 56 for the first week) and the mistake is compounded by doing (five 9 hour driving periods which is 45 hours on the second week), totalling 92 hours (47+45). That's probably why there's an additional table at @4:04 but it fails to emphasise that if one of the two weeks is increased the other needs to be reduced corespondingly.

    Fffs!,15 minutes,then thirty mins after 4.30 driving or 45 in one.otherwise 45 after 6hrs duty!!!,how hard can it be????.trucker,35 years exp being told by a twat how to do my job!!!!

    • @gary63693
      @gary63693 5 років тому

      @ScuderiaTDF1 No, after that 2 hours of driving, if you wanna drive for say 4.30 hours, you need to have that 45 minutes uninterrupted. If i was you, i would of took that 15 minute break and then drive for about another 2 hours and took a 30 minute break. That would reset your driving time. I know this is a late answer to the question. Did you pass by the way?

      If stuff like that puts you off then simply the job is not for you, I watched video once and understood everything, it's to prevent tiredness and overwork.

    @1:30 if you take a 44 min break will it not count as a 30 min break instead of a 15? Just passed my test & trying to get a grip of the rules. Cheers

    • @arweldavies7234
      @arweldavies7234 6 років тому

      If you take a 44 minute it will still only recognise a 15. You still will need to take another 30. Thats why they advice either a 15 mi ute break then drive and then take a 30 min break before you get to 4 and halfhours. Or drive up to 4 and half and take a 45min break. But please all newbies. When taking breaks always had 5 minutes to either a 15 or had 5 minutes to a 30 to complete 45 min which would equal to 50. Or after driving a straight 4 and half take a 50 incase timing are out between clocks on tach and vehicle. Sorry if that confused anyone

    All of this makes me laugh ! when I was in this industry my experience was that you had to put your tachograph on rest while you were making deliveries, 45 minute break ? that's a laugh when you are doing multi drop in this country now ! Many employers have trackers fitted, and they are phoning you when they see you are sitting idle ! you are better off stacking shelves in Tesco believe me.
